- One of only nine original Mouseketeers to last the entire duration of The Mickey Mouse Club (1955) from 1955 to 1959.
- He, together with his wife Diane, is a godparent to fellow Mouseketeer Tommy Cole's son Casey.
- Son of Howard Babin and Dorothy Burr, who were better known as the vaudeville dance team, Dot & Dash.
- He claims that he only met Walt Disney about four times in three years.
- He claims that Walt Disney could never remember his name, even when he was wearing his Mouseketeer shirt which had "Lonnie" printed in large letters across the front.

- After The Mickey Mouse Club (1955) stopped filming in 1958, he finished high school, turning 15 a few days before getting his diploma, and achieved a B.A. and M.A. in Theatre Arts from UCLA by age 29.
